Snap: A New Search Engine You Can Actually Use
By: Rustycat | in: Technology |I just found out about Snap. It’s a new search engine that lets you preview the site before actually entering it.
In a time when SEO and spoof sites are tricking Google, Snap lets you preview the front image of the website beforehand, thus saving you lots of time while searching. They have 300 million web pages scanned already and update daily.
I personally loved the user interface. I use a widescreen LCD so the split screen search result page is very useful. I didn’t even enter one website, everything was done on screen.
Snap just launched a new service for website owners, “Snap Preview Anywhere”. This service enables anyone visiting your site to get a glimpse of what other sites you’re linking to, without having to leave your site. All you have to do is tell them your URL and they give you a script to add to your website and Voila! Touch any link on The Plugg and you’ll see it in action. Great widget!
Snap still have a long road ahead of them, only 50% of the links actually have images so far, but they’re working on it. Try the News Search feature; it’s a charm, although they have to add some more references to the entertainment section.
Bottom line, not every day I stumble upon a new search engine which I’ll actually use. I’m not saying I’ll abandon Google, but I’ll give Snap a go as well.

Very useful info. Thanks!!!
I just tried it and hated it. I dunno, too much going on for me personally. Plus, I didn’t like the results.
