The Inbox - CocoRosie, Andy Partridge, Fiction Like Candy and Stars of Track and Field

By: Charbarred | in: Music |

A lot of exciting stuff has been piling up in The Plugg inbox lately. Being that by the time any of us will get to properly review it, you’d have probably watched the “Behind the Music” feature about it on VH1, I figured we plug it while it’s hot.

Andy Partridge:
XTC front man, Andy Partridge is very busy these days.
He’s discovered the Internet and is producing interesting podcasts and videos. Mr Partridge is also reunited with Barry Andrews (original XTC keyboardist) and Martyn Barker (Barry’s bandmate in Shriekback) and the result is very promising.

The CocoRosie track is really good…

I’m still ticked at Andy for killing XTC with his inane decision regarding guitar on Apple Venus, vol. 1. Then he has the nerve in an interview to say “maybe it’s time for it [XTC] to go back to sleep for another seven years.” If I’d been in the room I’d have given him a good smack. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to voice my too-long bottled up feelings. Partridge, you’re an egotistical PRAT!

Nice tracks, but my favourite definitely is Fiction Like Candy’s “Big red boots”… Catchy and delightful, I guess it will be stuck in my head for hours and hours to come!

Fiction Like Candy should also be applauded for doing it on their own.
    Well done guys!
