The Plugg is giving away 2 tickets to see Sonic Youth July 20th in LA’s “The Greek Theater“. Sonic Youth will perform Daydream Nation, one of the most important albums of the 80’s, in its entirety. Not only will you win those tickets, you will also receive two posters made, limited edition for the show date. All you have to do is email us with the subject “I want those damn Sonic Youth tickets“. Tell us your name and and why you think you deserve those tickets. The competition deadline is Wednesday 25th of April. After reading all your sob stories, we will anounce the winner on the 27th. The competition is open for US residents only.

Daydream Nation

Daydream Nation is the first “perfect” Sonic Youth album. Released in 1988, it marked Sonic Youth’s first foray into balancing the experimental noise with great songwriting. Tracks such as Kissability, Candle and Silver Rocket really proved that the band can play with the majors. The single Teenage Riot even hit the billboard chart. And, of course, there’s the amazing Trilogy and Cross The Breeze (my personal favorite).

I can’t think of a better night out. I’ve seen Sonic Youth live many times (even opened for them once, but that’s a different story), and they’re the best. Having them play one of their most important albums from start to finish is a treat not to be missed. So what are you waiting for? Start emailing!
