Asthmatic Kitty is set to release Shapes and Sizes’ second album Split Lips, Winning Hips, A Shiner. The Canadian four-pieces has really upped the stakes with this new album, proving there’s more to their music then mere experimentation. It’s a really beautiful album and is well worth
checking out.

Another album that’s set to make waves in indie-land is Minus Story’s forthcoming 4th LP My Ion Truss. It was Recorded in Chicago with John Congleton (Explosions In the Sky, The Polyphonic Spree), which gave the band the freedom to record most of the album completely live. Jumping from soft floating melodies to complete mayhem My Ion Tuss has just about everything a rock fan could ask for.

I’m loving the Minus Story! The enrgy, the drums…everything. They will be this years Silversun Pickups. You can really feel that live groove kick in on this song. Can’t wait for the album to come out already..
Clientele are pretty awesome too, but their album is a bit strange at times, it doesn’t click with you immediately.
Yes, Minus Story is fabulous! I don’t know why, but the song makes me think of an airplane struggling to take flight. It eventually does, but not very high, and then touches down without incident.
I like the Milestone Corporation track. Although it seems like a more conventional tune compared to the others featured, it’s very well done. The singer sounds like Richard Butler, but with a far greater vocal range.
