Ysabella Brave: The Latest Web Phenomenon
By: MrBabyMan | in: Music |
MaryAnne Ysabella (p/k/a Ysabella Brave) absolutely loves what she does, and you can tell the moment you hear her. She’s spun her own rising career out of taking off-the-shelf karaoke discs of jazz and pop standards, boldly and unabashedly belting them out in front of her webcam, and throwing them into the ether that is YouTube. In doing so, though, she makes the standards unique, owning them the way a Bennett or Streisand would. And the ether does respond. Based solely on the strength of 110 videos over the course of one year, she has amassed a following of 1.3 Million subscribers and a recording contract with Cordless Records (A division of Warner Music Group). She’s living proof that the best way to succeed in Web 2.0 is to follow your joy.

Ugh. Sorry about that! Confused Subscribers with Channel Views. Of course, you’re right!
