One year ago right after we launched The Plugg I wrote about my favorite hobby of collecting Gig Posters and it turned out to be a very successful post. So, I’ve decided to follow up and see what’s new in the indie art world.

Gig Posters are now one of the most popular art forms of idolizing your favorite bands. Every time a band goes on tour, an artist is chosen for each city to create the Gig Poster. Those same posters are then numbered in limited edition prints and sold directly on the artists’ websites.

No doubt some cool stuff there. I especially like the Animal Collective poster with its intestines for legs approach.

It’s also a good investement if you can’t afford traditional art. The posters are limited edition and numbered meaning they’ll be worth more once they run out.
