Top 10 TV Shows of 2007 (Rustycat)

10. Bionic Woman – Yes, you’re absolutely right, it’s a complete duplicate of Alias only without Jeniffer Garner. That being said, they managed to pull it off. Not the best TV show I’ve ever seen and I could do with less drama and the whole ‘telling your sister you’re a lab experiment and living a double life’ conflict but it was always good to tune in to and made my week just a little bit lighter and action packed.
Discussion: Bionic Woman or Alias rip off?

9. Weeds – They pulled all the strings this season. Weeds used to be way up in my top ten lists, but this year I felt that the most critical element to a comedy series was missing – viewer gratification. Just when you think nothing else could go wrong they shoot you down an even darker path. I love the characters and I loved this season but they could have showed us a light at the end of the tunnel occasionally.
Discussion: Weeds – will they really move to Pittsburgh?

8. Prison Break – I went in to this season thinking it’s going to be a glorified bore. But all in all, it was a good few episodes and it seems like the plot is moving along. I just hope they’ll get out of Sona very soon cause I’m getting sick of the set.
Discussion: Prison Break - Bore or Gimme More?

7. Big Bang Theory – Big Bang really surprised me. At first it was an amusing sitcom about a couple of A class geeks trying to communicate with the world and especially with the hot blonde next door which seemed like a pretty straight forward plot. Then it dropped for a couple of episodes and felt like it’s not going anywhere and suddenly it bounced back turning out to be one of the funniest sitcoms this season.
Discussion: Big Bang Theory: Can geeks really score blondes?

6. Samantha Who? – Christina Applegate is always fun to watch. She’s hot, she’s dumb, she’s funny it almost feels like she has always had amnesia. What a dumb plot for a series – right? Wrong. Chrisitina pulls it off with a smile and the show is pure laughs.
Discussion: Samantha Who?

5. Chuck – Who was once a sidekick secretary named Kipp on “Less than Perfect” is now a new breed of special agent with the entire NSA and CIA database of intelligence in his head. It’s 100% good time. The casting is great and it’s really well written and directed; but with a team of creator Josh Schwartz (The O.C.), and director McG (Charlie’s Angels) you really can’t go wrong. By the way to all you debating - it kicked Reaper’s ass.
Discussion: Chuck or Repear? Who owned the double life this season?

4. Survivor – Best reality show ever. And also you can’t beat the scene where Gravedigger James misses out on a million dollars purely due to stupidity and greed.
Discussion: Who is your 15th Survivor?

3. Gossip Girl – Biggest surprise of the season. I came in thinking this was a children’s show and I only want to hear Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars and Elle from Heroes) narrating the story but it turned out to be one of the best shows ever. It’s pure fun about a few rich kids from the upper east side of Manhattan. Also written by Josh Schwartz…hmmm…do I feel a pattern evolving…
Discussion: S or B?

2. Heroes – What can say that hasn’t been said? The creator of the show already apologized for the lack of action in this season and for the boring plotline of the brother and sister from Mexico so I forgave him and I’m excited to move forward. But, if the next season doesn’t start with Peter getting a nice pair of balls to go along with his superpowers and starts pilling some serious killing numbers - I’m out!
Discussion: Why does ‘Heroes’ suck this season?

1. Spooks – By far the best television show in the world. Spooks aka Mi5 is a UK show based on an elite team of secret agents in London’s prestigious Mi5. The series is so well crafted and written so good it amazes me every time. Season six was just aired in the UK and it was a ten out of ten. The drama, the suspense, the action – knockout season.
Discussion: Spooks – anybody here on board?

Good post Rusty!
While I agree about most of these shows, I think that in terms of fun feel good quality television, the winner is “How I Met Your Mother”. Every episode has this little bit of genius to it…
Where is House? Sorry, but its the only show I watch - I haven’t seen a show that is that routinely good since season two of 24.
Actually, I’m wrong… Dexter is great too and not on your list. I don’t have Showtime, so can’t watch that one regularly.
What, no Pushing Daisy’s? As for Heroes… That show has been going downhill this season, I wonder if it has to do with the writer’s strike?
Speaking of which, will TV survive the strike?
Completely forgot How I Met Your Mother - also up there in the top ten.
Steve - Read this article I wrote a few days ago.
Pushing Daisies…agreed, that’s probably the best new show on television at the moment
Really like some of these great posting them for us…
Great list, and I am glad to see another Bionic Woman fan out there!
I really need to get cable.
I was hoping Prison Break would redeem itself a bit, but sadly it was a terribly boring season so far. What about Lost ?:D Season 3 was at the beginning of the year, looking forward for season 4 now in February.
Yeah? What about Lost?
And what about Supernatural?
