Acceptable TV: Here’s Your Chance to Shine

Last night VH1 featured its new TV series – Acceptable TV. A TV series made up of many TV series pilots made by professionals and by you. Huh?!
It’s pretty simple: anyone can submit 3 minute pilots for a TV series online at www.acceptable.tv. Once a week the best of them will be featured on VH1 (Friday night at 10/9c). Then you and I can go online and use their rating system and democratically decide which installments make it to next week and which new features don’t. Oh, and Jack Black is one of the creators of the show, so you might have some tough competition coming your way.
It’s one of the most refreshing internet video / TV series I’ve seen in a while. It was bound to happen, TV and internet were sure to collide one of these days, and I’m not talking some featured YouTube video on a show, I’m talking power to influence. And who knows you might actually make a hit TV series of your own.
I’ll let Jack Black do the explaining from here on:

Great concept, watch, vote, support and create. I think I’m going to give it a try too.

Is this going to be a serious attempt, or is it going to be really bad?

It’s not all user submitted. most of the show are professionally produced and insanely hilarious comedy sketches that you vote for. Only sketch per episode comes from use submissions… which is a GOOD thing!
