Actor Michael Caine to Release Record?
By: Kendall | in: Movies, Music |
I spend several hours of each day reading about movies, music, and world events. Every now and again something really manages to stand out to me enough to really pause, scratch my head, and think I’ve stumbled on one helluva interesting oddity. In my readings today I found that Michael Cain is about to release a record of his own… well sort of. Maybe it’s more of a mixed tape.
That’s right, the award winning 74 year-old actor is apparently a huge music buff. Here is his explenation pulled directly from his site:
“I also have a music video coming out which the record company has called “Cained“. This is a compilation of Chill music from my vast collection. I have to confess that I am a secret disc jockey and have been making tapes and CDs for myself and my friends for over 40 years.
My record “Cained” comes out in September. It was weird the way this record came about, I was having dinner with Elton John at his house in Nice and he had on background music and as we were going through the dinner several of my favourite Chill records were played and I kept naming the tune or the artist much to Elton’s surprise and he asked me how I knew about this kind of music and I told him and he got me a three record deals. As they say in show business it is not what you know it is who you know. Have a listen I hope you like it.”
Cained - The Album, will contain tracks from Chicane’s “No Ordinary Morning” to Nina Simone and Felix Da Housecat’s “Sinnerman”.

Hmm…music that is approved by Elton John? Not sure I’ll be queuing up for this one…
On the other hand Nina Simone, Chicane…maybe.
Well, he was already on that Madness song. So he’s got a music pedigree… Sort of….
Michael Caine is certainly one of my favorite actors, although i’m not very sure our musical tastes intertwine very well, as he’s like 2 generations past my age :). Nevertheless interesting mixtape for sure
Caine, the closet DJ. Should prove interesting.
this will be interesting…
