Green Day Side Project Releases Free EP

Foxboro Hot Tubs

Currently making the rounds in the blogosphere is the revelation that Green Day has released an EP under the pseudonym The Foxboro Hot Tubs. This incarnation of the California trio finds them deliberately adopting a rockin’ 60s vibe. Personally, the six tracks are indicative of the era and simply fantastic. What’s even better is that the EP, entitled “Stop Drop and Roll”, is available as a FREE Download. Check out the fake revivalists and get your fill of some groovy retro-tinged recordings.

I just downloaded the EP yesterday. It’s definitely a more retro-rock vibe, but you can hear Greenday in it without too much imagination. I’m going to have to listen to it a few more times before I make a judgment call on this one. Has anyone listened to the Network album that they released a while back?

I agree with you Kendall, Green Day has already incorporated much of the retro stuff in their past releases.

Nonetheless, its a nice diversion and I happen to like it. :D

Thanks for the support Mozzer. I’ve decided it is a cool release, and support Greenday’s decision to try their best to work outside of the box. I don’t think they’ve strayed too far as of yet, but I can’t compliment them enough for trying.

And I support your decision to support Greenday’s decision!
