Hotel Lights

Had the pleasure of listening to Hotel Lights today, and figured a quick mention would be in place.

The band is fronted by Ben Folds Five ex-drummer Darren Jessee, who managed to assemble quite a graceful and tranquil outfit. Their self titled album is a mellow affair, with beautiful arrangements and great song-writing. It is sometimes reminiscent of Wilco and Ryan Adams, but incorporates gorgeous sound textures and a Nick Drake style of vocals. Overall it’s a very enjoyable listen, worth checking out.
