Kendall’s Pandora’s Box

From time to time I will have some things that impress me quite a bit, but refrain from doing an entire write up for one reason or another. The following are 3 of those things that I would finally like to share. It’s a fairly mixed bag so enjoy.

Alanis Morisette – “My Humps”
Who knew that Alanis Morisette actually had a sense of humor? To me this is much more funny then Will Ferell’s version treadmill version. Plus Alanis is kind of looking weirdly hot in a Jennifer Love Hewitt kind of way (just go with me on this one). The best thing about this song, is it actually reveals just how silly the lyrics are. It’s done both simply, and beautifully, but the vulnerability in this version, uncovers the absurdity of the song itself.

Mims- “I’m Hot” (an explanation)
Unless you have been hiding with your head somewhere it doesn’t belong, you have probably heard the track “I’m Hot” by Mims. It’s the number one song on the Billboard Hot 100. It’s a bragging track. The first time I heard it, I wasn’t even able to listen to the whole song. My challenge to you is simple. First: watch the video here:

THEN read the following article. This should explain to you why this song is NOT so retarded, and show you how Mims is actually far more superior than the rest of the world.

The Gibson Digital Guitar
Ok, I realize that a guitar isn’t usually considered entertainment. But the idea behind this guitar is bold, and it’s going to open up musicians to new ways of playing. I want one. It actually lets you pick what is going on with each string individually as compared to only be able to run the entire guitar through a processor by itself. The output actually allows each string it’s own output, with 6 separate inputs. The idea of being able to have different effects on different strings can let a talented player actually play in ways never considered before. The explanation is all here.

It’s amazing that someone actually went to all these lengths just for a Mims video.
And that guitar…I can’t think of any applicable use for it (why would I want to have different volumes for my strings?) but I want one!

Then you can play power chords with distortion on the low strings, and you can play clean leads on the high.

It can make for some amazing effects, even in the studio…Don’t know if I’d ever have the balls to play live with one of these things (might as well bring a double neck guitar or a calculator on stage), but the potential for amazing new sounds is actually quite exciting…oh, and that blue colour…

Well, maybe Allibastard will be brave enough to play it and I can start a band with him instead.

Maybe you’re better off, I’m moody in rehearsals and I always hog all the solos :-)
Imagine that, The Plugg band…I take it no one can play drums?

Who needs drums when you have Reason?

Well that opens up a whole new, er…Pandora’s Box. I’m not very keen on Reason, I like to systematically program each drum beat on an editor until my hands bleed, although in practice I use Fruity Loops and all my drum tracks sound like 80’s computer games.

Well, if you get the new digital guitar you could play drums with it!

    Kendall’s Pandora’s Box

The Plugg’s, Kendall dishes out a grab bag of treats for your audio enjoyment. The Alanis rendition of ‘My Humps’ is not to be missed.

To think I’ve stayed away from the Morrissette video because I thought it would be a silly 4 minutes of Fregie-mocking. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The song is a pretty good twist on the original. Kendall, I couldn’t have described it any better. and yes, she does have a little JLH hotness going on. :)

The first time I heard the Mims I was like, “WTF?!?!” upon the 10th listen I was like, “umm, WTF?!?!” It grew on me eventually.

    “I’m hot cuz I comment
    You ain’t cuz U not.
This is why, This is why,
This is why I’m hot “
