Meet the Kissaway Trail

Hailing from the streets of Odense, Denemark comes this wonderful new band. The Kissaway Trail has recently recoded their self title debut album to be released on Bella Union in the UK, Europe and Japan.
It seems as if many labels and industry professionals are reacting with amazing support towards the band. They even got Tracy Maurice, the guy who did all the artwork for Arcade Fire’s album, to do theirs, and now they’ve hit the Plugg!
The Kissaway Trail rings of fresh indie rock melodies that capture your soul and steal you away for a few moments of peace. They are sort of a cross between The Flaming Lips, Band of Horses, Arcade Fire and I even got a sense of Blur from vocalist, Thomas L. Fagerlund. It’s good to see this kind of energy put into motion and on the high street shelves. Apparently they got discovered on MySpace which, if you’ve met any unsigned artist lately, is quite a feat.
These guys could still use a bit of direction, the album is not perfect. At times it sways from the overall feel and pulls in different directions but immediately gets back on track. It’s a really good listen and is definitely worth the investment. I’m glad I found this album.
Check out the song ‘Tracy’ I think it pretty much captures the essence of the album.
