Mike Dunn and the Kings of New England

By: Kendall | in: Music |

Mike Dunn and the Kings of New England offer something that a lot of other Florida bands have forgotten… Americana. They seem to have whisked past the scream-o and pop punk that has cluttered the market, and got back to a day when Tom Petty and Springsteen were the sound. It’s refreshing to hear young people reviving a style of music that so defiantly comes from the heart, and speaks like the country it represents. The telecaster sounds, the heavy handed piano, honest lyrics wrap the package up neatly and deliver it to your door. Recently signed to P is for Panda, they are completing a full length album, and have a free EP to download here. That’s right, it’s $0. Give it a listen.

If I didn’t convince you to give it a shot yet, here’s a couple tracks to sample.
