People Noise
As the world breathlessly awaits the new Smashing Pumpkins album, People Noise are already on top of the whole big guitar thing. Throw in some Aphex Twin and Radiohead into the mix and you’ve yourself one hell of an album to contend with. People Noise, formed by former VHS or Beta guitarist Zeke Buck and Boom Bip’s Matt Johnson are now on tour promoting their excellent album Ordinary Ghosts.

David Vandervelde
Glam rocker David Vandervelde is currently touring the hell out of Europe. After that, he’s due a for a cigarette break, followed by another massive tour of The US. He did however find some time to prep a new EP called Nothin’ No, whose opening track we’re proud to present here on The Plugg.

They Shoot Horses Don’t They?
The Vancouver 8-piece releases “Pick Up Sticks”, an album which promises “oompa horns and whirling, driving guitars all wrapped up under the peculiar charm of the band’s lyrics”. Citing Captain Beefheart and Sun Ra as their influences, the band is hard to define, but definitely worth a listen.

Spoon
Spoon is back with the truly excellent “Ga Ga Ga Ga” . This is by far their finest effort to date. They’ve expanded their sound and songwriting to produce a sincere heartfelt album with rocking tunes.

Love the People Noise songs. Can’t even get to the rest of the music because I keep listening to the first two. But I’m assuming the rest of the stuff is good too…I trust you guys

If you like People’s Noise first record wait till you hear thier new effort - currently in production via the guidance of Mannie Nieto in his LA studio.

Taking a slightly different direction, Buck and Johnson have put together a record that will please followers and, I think, bring in new listeners. Less “shoegaze”, clear, subtle vocals by Buck and solid and creative drums by Johnson, the sound brings some of the old with a distinctive, authenic vibe that will take this band to a new level.

Three of the new songs (which may change somewhat-still in production) are on Sonibids as Demos.
