The Most Beautiful Album You Don’t Own
By: Charbarred | in: Music |Why Logh’s ‘Every Time a Bell Rings, An Angel Gets His Wings’ is a must in your music collection

Logh is a Swedish band that formed in 1998. Their 2002 debut album ‘Every Time A Bell Rings, An Angel Gets His Wings’ is something you don’t find very often. This is the sort of an album you will listen to continually from top to bottom enjoying the sublime textures and poetic lyrics.
The album’s starter, ‘In Cold Blood’ sets the mood with a short vocal introduction which breaks into an incredible solo. From there on it’s a stunning celebration of subtle guitars, low-fi vocals and a cold Nordic groove. This is post rock as it’s never seen before – exceptionally restrained and almost apologetic. But no note on this album will be regretted. The rockier tunes, if you can call them that, merely send you right back to the slow drones of the quiet ones, almost hypnotizing you by the time you reach the end of the album. As I understand, this was actually recorded live, which scores them a few more points in my book.
If you’ve never heard of Logh, you’re forgiven; after all they’re a small European indie band. But now that you have, there’s no excuse not to pick up this fantastic album.
Logh is currently in the studio working on their forth LP, which by the sound of the demos they’ve posted, is shaping up to be another masterpiece.
